* SAVING THE SURVIVORS – HOPE FROM HURT

08.12.2017:

VetVital & friends supports this year the tireless efforts of veterinarian Dr. Johan Marais and his team for the rhinos in South Africa. Since 2012, this small charity has been working intensively and at a very high veterinary level to rescue and care for rhinoceros and their calves, who have been injured by poachers.

The money goes into the implementation of their own development of a special locating system for the rhino horns. A transmitter implant in the middle of the horn should allow to identify a lane signal for up to 3 to 5 years. It’s extremely difficult electronically, but Dr. Marais and his team will make it!

Aid for earthquake victims in Nepal

The heavy earthquake on 04/25/2015 in Nepal has motivated VetVital & friends to make a donation for the earthquake victims to the Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital (SKMH) in Sankhu/ Kathmandu, Nepal.

The money benefits locally to people in need. But the misery is not yet defeated even after more than half a year. Therefore VetVital & friends has made again (in December) a direct donation to the SKM -Hospital!

The hospital was founded in 1996 as a medical aid project for plastic surgery of the charity Interplant Germany e. V. in cooperation with nepalese partner Sushma Koirala Memorial Trust and put into operation in 1997. In the SKM hospital mainly poor people are medically treated for free. In addition to this task, they help through education and training of nepalese doctors and nurses to improve the medical standard in Nepal.

VSA International Day of Peace Food Giving

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” -Desmond Tutu

Kim and Larissa Grahamstown

On September 21st, the world celebrates the International Day of Peace. It is a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations, peoples and communities. The theme of this year’s celebration was “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All” which aimed to encourage societies to work together to strive for peace. Over the past few weeks, the learners of the S.D.A. Primary School have been taking those words to heart and prepared for the International Day of Peace by writing their own peace poems about what peace means to them and organised a campaign to give back to the community. They decided to cook fresh food, to make some healthy snacks and drinks and to hand it out to the children of the Home of Joy orphanage in the Joza Township. It was a very rewarding experience for all and a good lesson about why peace is so important to the country and our communities.

“VetVital & friends” supported this day!

Education is the key to progress and change!

By long-standing business contacts with South Africa is the land of “VetVital & friends” particularly dear. Currently “VetVital & friends” supports projects of the VSA. The Village Scribe Association (VSA) is a local non-governmental organization (NGO) in Grahamstown, South Africa, which works with underprivileged, public schools in order to promote computer literacy in schools. To this end, the social eLearning platform in 2010 “awarenet” was developed. This program is specifically tailored to the needs of students and teachers in Joza Township in Grahamstown.

awarenet
“awarenet” is an eLearning platform and a social media tool that offers the students a personal and protected space to try out the digital network and to gain initial experience in blogging, discussion and in the online project work. The children learn to present themselves, to network, to communicate, upload images, create presentations and video editing. The coordinators of VSA and coaches visit their classes every week and work with them on various projects on topics such as health, sports, music, history and social commitment. (…) The platform has been designed so that even schools can use awarenet in rural areas with unstable power supply and poor Internet because it also works offline. awarenet is an open source program and can be integrated in every school and in every afternoon program at schools. Because no costs come to the participating schools, awarenet provides many opportunities for students, teachers and other NGOs in the education sector.

Bright children’s eyes in Momella!

Also in 2014 “VetVital & friends” was able to bring many children’s eyes sparkle with joy! (Thanks to your support by buying the VetVital products)
In collaboration with the small animal clinic “Tiergesundheitszentrum Grußendorf in Bramsche” and the “Momella Förderverein e.V.” “VetVital & friends” are making an important contribution to help themselves in Tanzania. Momella is a small community in Tanzania, East Africa. With the “Momella Förderverein e.V.” children of this rural region are helped to a primary education. With the aim to support not only the schools themselves but also the whole environment, especially local artisans are commissioned and funded as well as the trading site. The “VetVital & friends” is particularly pleased that the donations (thanks to the volunteer association structure of “Momella Förderverein e.V.”) arrive to 99.6% directly in schools in Tanzania.

Help for children

This is the motto of the cooperation with the Institute for childpain therapy of the Vestischen children and youth clinic in Datteln.
In 2009 „VetVital and Friends“ could allow the acquisition of a high modern biofeedback device incl. Software.

Using this innovative technology, affected children can learn to cope with chronic pain by autogenous techniques and integrate them into their daily lives.

The impulse for this donation was given by Mrs Thekla Vennebusch, when she spoke about her 7-year-old daughter, who suffered a long time under unimaginable pain before she was helped in Datteln. She reported of children who suffer from migraines since childhood, have the strongest nerve pain in the limbs, can`t go to school for years or can`t participate in social life due to nonspecific colic.

And nobody could really help.

But the Children`s Hospital in Datteln assumes to these children and finds solutions.

It is the first and only institution at all, which is dedicated to pediatric pain therapy and thus not only is a huge help for affected children and their families, but also a model for surgeons and clinics throughout Germany.

VetVital and Friends keep it useful to support this pioneering work and thank you, that you make this possible with the successful use of the VetVital products.

In March 2011, another project with the Children and Youth Clinic in Datteln was implemented.
A new computer and the matching computer desk was needed.
Particularly urgent was the purchase of a special infrared camera system. With this, the patient can be specifically observed during their sleep.
In retrospect is vividly documented that the specified immobility of limbs is psychosomatic and not somatic origin.

After this initial finding, the work of the psychologists can start useful.
Again, “VetVital & friends”could afford the complete support for all necessary means.
